Resort Description
Ordino and Arcalis are the lesser known partner resorts of Pal and Arinsal, which together make up Andorra's second largest ski area - the Vallnord. Ordino and Arcalis are still very much 'undiscovered' compared to their busier neighbours and offer fantastic, varied and exciting skiing at very little cost. With new routes now flying into both Perpignan and Gerona, Ordino-Arcalis is easily reached via a two and a half hour transfer.
Apres Ski
Nightlife in Ordino-Arcalis is pretty low key. There is one main apres-ski hang out - the Pub Xaloc. Arinsal has a good choice of bars and restaurants and is easily reached via new transport links throughout the Vallnord area. For those who enjoy the apres-ski as much as the skiing itself, Andorra's more lively resorts, Pas de la Casa and Soldeu, may be more suitable.
Skiing
Beginners
The Vallnord area, and in particular Ordino, are perfect for beginners. 6 green runs make learning easy and a fantastic English speaking ski school helps too, which meets near the village daily. Ordino is a great resort for beginners and in no time at all you will have the confidence to face the more challenging runs.
Intermediates
Intermediate level skiers will love the confidence boosting blues that Ordino has to offer and can ski four resorts with the Vallnord area lift pass.
Advanced
The steepest slopes and the best off-piste areas in the Pyrenees can be found at Ordino, the resort favoured by the most demanding skiers and boarders! The area is located in unbeatable surroundings and offers a complete range of authentic off-piste features, including untrodden slopes of snow, woodland, etc, but with all the safety of remaining within the resort's marked-out area in the terraced zone.
Snowboarding
Andorra is a snowboarders haven and Ordino has it all. The snow park is situated at the end of the middle La Portella piste. The snow park has a surface area of approximately 15,000m2, and is home to around 10 modules. Especially designed for snowboarders and the young, and not so young, who want to try out the latest freestyle trends.
